Los Barriles, Baja:

• Hotel Palmas de Cortez: We haven’t stayed there but the reviews sound good, its right on the ocean and has a very nice pool bar
• Hotel Punta Pescadero: just getting to the hotel is quite the adventure – renting an ATV would be the best way to get there and its quite a bit of fun riding up the cliff to get to this spot. I am not sure I would stay in the hotel, not that it is bad, the staff seems nice and the  facilities look nice but it is quite a ways out of town. It is though worth going there for a romantic dinner. The  menu is very small, they have a fish, chicken and beef item and it comes with a salad and desert for a pre-fixed price. The quality is great and the view is unbeatable.
• Fishing: the fishing in Los Barriles is outstanding and there are a lot of local fisherman who rent out their services, usually around $200 for a full day. Most of the folks who rent you a house/villa will know a local fisherman, the hotels have their own fisherman with boat/panga.
